We got married last year, OK, we 'eloped' last year and planned to do a world-wide tour in September 2005 to see our families and friends wherever they were, and throw a wedding party at each stop. Great plan. It did not work out. We were stopped by the new visa, it was due long before September, but only arrived in December. No trip for us.

So, we decided to make the best of it, take some time off and spend a long weekend in the 'Big Easy', New Orleans instead. We booked flights and hotels, planned the time off work ... but Katrina happened and wiped New Orleans off the map. No trip for us.

No world tour.

No long weekend vacation.

Undaunted, we drove to Amish country instead, 4 hours away by car across New Jersey. You call that a trip!

Now we have the visa, we have booked the flights, planned the time off work and are looking forward to seeing our families and friends in Feb and March. It took longer than we thought, but we're getting there.
