The world cup was a big deal. Australia did great! We
made it through the qualifiers and into the top 16
for the first time. Well done Socceroos! Check the
photorium page Boston for pictures of us and our
friends watching the Brazil - Australia game at
a bar in downtown New York.
Just like last year, we also made the cut to Juan and Rosa's for the annual July 4 birthday bash at their rooftop apartment, and once again we forgot the camera. They have the best view of Manhattan and we could see the fireworks all around us.
July 8 and 9 we spent in Boston. We walked the freedom trail to see Faneuil Hall, Quincy Markets, Little Italy, Paul Revere's house, the USS Constitution, Bunker Hill, the Tea Party, Boston Common.... After all that walking we needed a nice hotel room and a good meal. We got upgraded at a discount to a suite that missed one important ingredient, a bed! But with the money we saved on the room, we had a great dinner. Ats ate a 2 pound lobster, and did not waste a bit. The trip ended with us and about 10,000 Italians watching the world cup final in front of Boston Town hall.
