Started the weekend celebrating Rosa's birthday, then driving north of the city to Bear Mountain for a 7 mile hike. The fall leaves were at their peak and the hike was grueling, rocky and very rewarding. We spent the night in Rhineback about 70 miles north of Bear Mountain at a splendid B&B. Took a leisurely drive back via Olana (Frederick Church - famous US painter - built it), FDR's home, Cold Springs (an antiques town) and Sleepy Hollow.

Forgot to bring this up, but the Hiltmon is officially a member of the Red Sox nation. The deal was if I ever went to a Yankees - Red Sox game, the winner would be my team for life. The Red Sox won, deal is done....
